Split and Equilibrium

This is the only piece in the series born from a preliminary sketch. It brings together two opposing approaches: a rational, measured graphic structure and a spontaneous painterly element. The line anchors the form, while the intricate texture, water stains, and gradients of ochre, turquoise, and deep emerald emerged directly from the subconscious, bypassing the control of the rational mind.

The face is split into two states: one eye open to the world, the other closed and immersed in a dream. It is an exploration of the boundary between control and trust in the inner flow - a fracture of form that paradoxically finds lasting equilibrium.
